Trespassed Territory” is an oil painting that tells a powerful story through the image of two lions, one being taken away in a truck. The creation process began with careful research and sketching to capture the raw emotion and tension of the scene — the mix of strength, loss, and displacement. I started by blocking in the composition on canvas, focusing on the lions’ expressions and body language to convey their story.

Layer by layer, I built up the colors and textures, blending the warm golden tones of the lions’ fur with the cold, mechanical feel of the truck to create a striking contrast. Working with oil paints allowed me to play with depth and light, highlighting the natural majesty of the animals against the harsh reality of the human intervention.

Throughout the painting, I aimed to evoke a sense of urgency and reflection on the impact of trespassing on wildlife territories, making the piece not just a portrait, but a narrative about respect, loss, and the fragile balance between nature and human activity.
